Data we collect
Account information: Name, email, password hash, sign-in method, sessions, verification and reset records, security settings, and support messages.
Roster information: Memberships, invitation codes, roles, recipes and source material, ingredients, product matches, shopping lists, stores, budgets, meal plans, profiles, activity, and settings.
Food and health-related information: Allergies, dietary rules and notes, calorie and macro goals, tolerances, nutrition estimates, meal plans, and recipe or product nutrition.
Beta-feature information: Intelligence conversations, proposals and explicitly saved preferences; Pantry quantities and adjustments; receipt metadata and extracted line items; Professional production plans; plan and subscription status; and Community posts, comments, reactions, bookmarks, blocks, reports, and moderation status.
Technical information: Import failures, service errors, rate-limit events, diagnostics, analytics, logs, and device or browser information needed to protect and run BiteRoster.
How we use it
We use this information to create and secure accounts, verify sign-ins, manage roster permissions and plan access, import recipes and receipts, provide Intelligence and Pantry features, calculate nutrition and cost estimates, build shopping lists and production plans, operate Community, provide support, prevent abuse, investigate errors, and improve reliability.
BiteRoster doesn’t sell personal data, use it for targeted advertising, or make workspace data public. Add only the food, allergy, or dietary information you need for planning.
Service providers, AI, and billing
When you import a URL, text, image, PDF, audio, video, or other file, BiteRoster may send the source and extracted content to service providers that help parse and structure it. These providers may include hosting, database, email, monitoring, logging, analytics, AI, parsing, OCR, social-media extraction, nutrition, recipe-processing, and uptime services.
Intelligence conversations and proposals may be stored in the active Roster. Only preferences you explicitly confirm are saved as lasting assistant preferences. Receipt sources are intended for bounded, transient processing; BiteRoster stores structured review lines and receipt metadata rather than payment-card details.
Paddle processes checkout and payment information for paid plans. BiteRoster stores plan state and provider customer, subscription, product, and price identifiers needed to manage access, but not full payment-card details.
Providers should process data only to deliver or operate the service. Don’t import content you don’t have permission to process or store.
Retention and your choices
We generally keep account, planning, Pantry, Intelligence, and Community data while the account or Roster is active, unless you delete it or we need to retain limited information for security, legal, moderation, billing, or operational reasons. Expired receipt-review records, expired AI proposals, quota counters, transient authentication records, and webhook idempotency records are subject to separate bounded retention jobs. Backups may remain for a limited time.
A personal export includes records attributed to your account and safe workspace plan status. It excludes credentials, payment details, billing-provider identifiers, webhook records, raw receipt files, receipt hashes, private provider payloads, AI proposal payloads, and other members’ private account data.
Account deletion removes sole-member Rosters. In a shared Roster, operational records remain for other members while your personal Intelligence conversations are deleted and attribution on retained records is removed; receipts you imported are deleted after Pantry provenance is detached. Your Community posts and comments are replaced with removed-content placeholders so deleting your account does not erase other people’s replies.
You can export or delete your account from Account settings. To request access, correction, or other deletion help, email support@biteroster.com. We may need to confirm your identity.
